As decided by the provincial coordinators at the 2002 annual meeting, the pairings for the national finals are made randomly, with the exception that Ontario and Quebec play each other in round 8. (The exception is made because ON-QC is usually the decisive match for first place, and it is more exciting near the end of the tournament.)
